Job summary

WSP in the UK & Ireland is seeking a Principal Transport Planner to join the Transport & Mobility team in Liverpool. This role is based in our central Liverpool office, with hybrid working enabling a mix of in-office and home working.

You will lead on transport planning projects, collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, and help win work for local authorities and government clients while developing junior staff and delivering high-quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience in active travel, public transport and transport project development.
• Ability to develop schemes, plans and business cases for transport projects.
• Experience working with Local Authorities or public sector clients.

Responsibilities

• Leading on a variety of transport planning projects and proposals, including technical and commercial inputs.
• Managing multi-disciplinary teams and collaborating across service lines.
• Supporting client relationships and contributing to the team’s financial performance.
• Mentoring junior team members and contributing to staff development.
• Contributing to strategic pillars: People, Clients & Growth, Operations, Expertise.
