Job summary

Yorkshire Water is looking for a Third Party Claims Handler to join the Insurance team in Bradford, with future relocation to Leeds. The role is permanent, 37 hours per week, and hybrid (2 days in the office weekly).

You will manage a diverse caseload of third-party public liability claims from first contact to final resolution, keeping detailed records in Figtree and handling settlements up to £200k. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Strong communicator who can liaise confidently with people at all levels, both internally and externally.
• Excellent written communication and a professional, friendly telephone manner.
• Comfortable working independently, using initiative and making sound decisions without close supervision.
• Highly organized with the ability to multitask, manage deadlines and stay on top of a busy workload.

Responsibilities

• Manage a diverse caseload of third-party public liability claims – From first contact to final resolution.
• Keep accurate, up-to-date records in Figtree, including provisions and payment processing.
• Make informed decisions on invoices, quotations and settlements up to £200k, following regulatory requirements.
• Review loss adjuster, medical and legal reports to progress claims effectively.
• Work with internal teams and external partners to investigate claims and gather evidence.
• Prepare witness statements and attend court when necessary.
• Support customer experience and develop Claims Assistants.
