Job summary

Bauer Media Group in Manchester is creating a new in‑house software engineering hub. As a Software Engineer you’ll build and maintain features across the platform, working with Java Spring Boot, AWS, and a TypeScript/React frontend, taking ownership as the squad grows.

You’ll collaborate with product and tech peers, apply DevOps practices, contribute to CI/CD and security, and participate in incident management in a hybrid, in‑office pattern twice weekly at our Manchester hub.

Qualifications

• Solid engineering experience with the ability to work independently on features across frontend and backend.
• Familiarity with Java Spring Boot and AWS backend, TypeScript/React frontend, or a comparable modern stack.
• Knowledge of microservices, APIs, cloud deployment, CI/CD and DevOps practices.

Responsibilities

• Build and deliver features across the platform, taking increasing ownership as the team grows.
• Collaborate in code reviews and with product/technology peers to align with architectural direction.
• Champion quality, CI/CD, automation, and observability; maintain tests and security practices.
• Support the team by sharing knowledge and helping new engineers settle in.
