Job summary

Bauer Media Group is expanding its Manchester engineering hub to build the audio platform of the future. You will join an in‑house software engineering team, delivering features across frontend and backend while aligning with product priorities and engineering standards.

You’ll contribute to DevOps, CI/CD, testing, security and observability, with hybrid collaboration in squads that value learning, inclusion, and high quality software that scales for Europe’s audiences.

Qualifications

• Solid engineering experience with frontend and backend features.
• Experience with Java Spring Boot, AWS backend, and TypeScript/React frontend.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, Kafka, microservices, APIs and cloud deployment.
• CI/CD, containerisation and security practices in day-to-day development.
• Interest in AI-assisted tooling to improve productivity and code quality.

Responsibilities

• Build and deliver features across the platform, with growing ownership.
• Participate in code reviews and cross-squad technical discussions.
• Apply DevOps practices, CI/CD, automation, and observability.
• Write and maintain unit/integration tests and support security hardening.
• Collaborate with colleagues to grow the team and assist in interviews.
