Job summary

ASDA is seeking a Server Engineer to join the Infrastructure team on a project-based role delivering end-to-end server solutions across hardware, OS, virtualization, backups and monitoring. Based at Asda House, Leeds, the role combines hands-on configuration with design and handover to Operations.

You will work with PMs and internal teams and third parties, design compliant solutions, install and configure server elements, document designs, and maintain strong relationships within the ASDA

Qualifications

• Experience supporting Windows, Linux servers and VMware infrastructure (L3)
• PowerShell scripting and automation experience
• Knowledge/experience in Enterprise Retail IT environments advantageous
• Experience supporting servers hosted in Azure advantageous

Responsibilities

• Attend project meetings.
• Design solutions following company and industry standards.
• Work with PMs, other internal teams, and 3rd parties to deliver solutions.
• Install and configure server elements of solutions, including hardware, OS, monitoring, backup.
• Document designs / solutions.
• Handover completed solutions to the Operations team.
• Build effective relationships across the Asda Technology function.
• Design, install, and configure solutions following Asda Security policies.
• Manage day-to-day workload to meet timescales.
