Job summary

Saab UK Ltd. is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer based in Fareham to maintain and improve its core IT infrastructure, spanning on‑prem VMware, backup, servers, networking, and cloud services.

You will support Azure, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, and security across hybrid environments. You will work with a dedicated IT team, liaise with suppliers, ensure documentation, play a key role in patching and upgrades, and contribute to continuous service improvement in a Defence/Security focused

Qualifications

• Experience supporting VMware virtualisation in on‑premises environments.
• Strong Windows Server/AD/DNS/DHCP/GP skills.
• Experience with backup and DR processes.
• Knowledge of Azure networking, storage, identity, monitoring and backup.
• Experience with MS 365 services and SharePoint Online.
• Good documentation and incident-troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work in ITIL-aligned support environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day support for on‑prem VMware environments and related infrastructure.
• Monitor and maintain server, storage, network, and cloud services for availability and security.
• Assist with Azure services, VMs, storage, networking and recovery testing.
• Support backup and recovery services and incident resolution.
• Maintain infrastructure documentation and asset records.
• Collaborate with third-party providers and internal stakeholders.
• Contribute to patching, upgrades and small projects across on‑prem and cloud.
