Job summary

Jacobs in the United Kingdom is seeking a Senior Cable System Engineer to support high-profile Power & Energy projects, including HV/EHV cabling, substations, HVDC interconnectors, and energy storage systems.

You will develop cable design specs, perform calculations, lead design reviews, and ensure CDM compliance while collaborating with clients, designers, and subcontractors across multiple sites and hybrid working arrangements.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Power Engineering or equivalent is required.
• Experience in consultancy, contractor or utility energy sector projects.
• Experience leading HV/EHV cabling designs across FEED to detail design.
• Proficient use of CYMCAP for cable system design is expected.

Responsibilities

• Develop HV/EHV cabling system specifications, design reviews and estimation.
• Provide technical support on HV cable system engineering and design.
• Prepare technical specifications, route specifications and progress reports.
• Coordinate with other engineering functions and stakeholders in meetings.
