Job summary

COWI is seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join our expanding Infrastructure MEP team in the UK. You will manage multiple medium-sized projects, developing and coordinating MV/LV power systems and other electrical services for infrastructure projects across water, transportation, and energy sectors.

You will work with multidisciplinary teams, including BIM, to produce designs and specifications while ensuring quality and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Chartered Engineer status or equivalent.
• Experience on large-scale UK infrastructure electrical design projects.
• Proficiency with Amtech, Dialux, ETAP and BIM tools.

Responsibilities

• Oversee MV/LV power system design and distribution, including single line diagrams, load schedules, and cable calculations.
• Oversee design of electrical systems such as fire alarm, security, lighting, lightning protection and earthing.
• Prepare technical specifications.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, especially BIM, to prepare designs and drawings.
• Conduct technical design reviews of calculations and specifications.
• Participate in project meetings, site surveys and inspections.
• Adhere to quality and governance processes.
