Job summary

COWI is seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join our expanding Infrastructure MEP team in the UK. You will lead multiple medium-sized projects, develop and coordinate MV/LV power systems, and collaborate with BIM to deliver integrated electrical designs for water, transport and other critical sectors.

The role requires Chartered Engineer status or equivalent, and experience with UK infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

Degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
Chartered Engineer status or equivalent is expected.
Experience on large-scale UK infrastructure electrical design projects is preferred.
Ability to work across sectors and collaborate with BIM teams.

Responsibilities

Oversee MV/LV power systems design, including single line diagrams, load schedules, cable calculations and general arrangements.
Oversee design of fire alarm, security, lighting, lightning protection and earthing systems.
Prepare technical specifications.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, especially BIM, to prepare design models and drawings.
Conduct thorough technical reviews of designs, calculations and specifications.
Participate in project meetings, site surveys and inspections.
Adhere to quality and governance processes.
