Job summary

COWI A/S is seeking a Senior Design Engineer with a water utilities background to join our Civil and MEICA focused water team in the UK. You will deliver designs for water supply and wastewater infrastructure, including pressurised mains and pumping stations, and work with colleagues across UK and global hubs.

Your role involves planning design work with civils and MEICA teams, developing technical designs, and ensuring compliance with standards.

Qualifications

• Degree in civil or mechanical engineering required.
• Chartered Engineer status or working towards chartership with a recognised institution.
• Experience in civil, structural or mechanical design in the water sector.
• Knowledge of water-based systems including pressurised water supply mains and pumping stations.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver water and wastewater projects for UK clients.
• Plan design work and deliverables with civils and MEICA teams.
• Develop and technically assure designs using appropriate software and calculations.
• Ensure compliance with local and international standards.
• Coordinate multi-disciplinary interfaces (civil, mechanical, electrical, process).
• Mentor junior team members and support graduate engineers.
