Job summary

AtkinsRéalis in the UK seeks Lead Contractor Design Approval Engineers (LCDAEs) to provide formal design assurance for Transmission and Distribution projects. You will act as LCDAE for nominated schemes, ensuring deliverables meet National Grid procedures, standards and CDM requirements.

You will lead design reviews, mentor junior staff, and collaborate with project teams, clients and asset owners to deliver safe, compliant, high-quality designs while supporting continuous improvement of

Qualifications

Degree qualified in electrical or civil engineering with Chartered Engineer status.
Experience acting as LCDAE in accordance with National Grid procedures.
Knowledge of CDM Regulations and UK safety legislation.

Responsibilities

Act as LCDAE for allocated projects, ensuring designs meet National Grid procedures and AtkinsRéalis standards.
Lead interdisciplinary design reviews, hazard reviews, and approval meetings with proper documentation.
Review and approve key deliverables: calculations, drawings, design risk assessments, and submissions.
Collaborate with project teams, clients, asset owners, suppliers to resolve technical issues.
Mentor CDAEs, design engineers and reviewers to develop capability and succession for design approvals.
Support continuous improvement of design assurance processes and approval workflows.
