Job summary

Balfour Beatty plc is seeking a talented Section Engineer to join the Net Zero Teesside (NZT) project. You will lead engineering activities within your section, ensure works meet specifications, and collaborate with the project team, subcontractors and site personnel to drive safety, quality and delivery.

Key responsibilities include setting out, surveying, reviewing drawings, and maintaining records while coordinating resources to keep the programme on track.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Section Engineer or similar on civil/construction sites.
• Relevant Civil Engineering degree or equivalent.
• Strong technical knowledge of construction methods, drawings and specs.
• Experience setting out, surveying and managing on-site activities.
• Good understanding of health, safety, environment and quality requirements.
• Strong organisational and communication skills for coordinating multiple activities.
• Proactive, owning and driving work forward.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate engineering activities within your section.
• Ensure works delivered safely and to programme/drawings/specifications.
• Provide engineering support to site teams and subcontractors.
• Review drawings, specs and technical information for accuracy.
• Undertake setting out, dimensional control and surveying as required.
• Monitor progress against programme and flag issues/delays.
• Coordinate subcontractors and resources for on-site delivery.
• Maintain accurate site records (as-built, QA, inspection).
