Job summary

Kier Group is hiring a Quantity Surveyor for the Southern Water framework based in Falmer. The role blends home and office working in a busy commercial team delivering cost management across a £3.1bn programme of water and wastewater projects.

You will measure works, prepare payment applications, monitor costs, forecast cash flow, and support procurement strategies while maintaining high safety and quality standards. Strong client communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience with NEC contracts and Target Costs within construction, water or civils industries.
• Excellent IT skills, particularly with Microsoft Excel; familiarity with Oracle and Causeway accounting systems.
• Strong communication skills with client-facing confidence.
• Ability to interpret financial data, forecast cash flow and demonstrate numeracy.
• Full driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Measure works and prepare monthly and final payment applications, including forecasting and reporting.
• Monitor and report on project costs and value, ensuring contractual compliance.
• Support procurement strategy, value maximisation, and change control procedures.
• Assess and process sub-contract payments while managing commercial risks and notices.
• Liaise with subcontractors and clients on financial updates.
