Job summary

Kier Group in Falmer is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the Southern Water team on a hybrid basis. You will provide commercial support to project teams, maintain commercial information, and ensure compliance with contractual requirements as part of the AMP 8 delivery programme.

Responsibilities include managing contract performance, forecasting financials, updating reports, improving cash flow, and overseeing procurement with subcontractors.

Qualifications

• Relevant degree or equivalent in Quantity Surveying.
• Experience in a senior commercial capacity within a Tier 1 main contractor environment.
• Fully conversant with NEC forms of contract and knowledge of current Construction Law.
• Experience in procurement and managing subcontractors, including meetings, measurement and accruals.

Responsibilities

• Managing commercial performance of contracts, including a package of works and mentoring junior team members
• Providing commercial input including financial and contractual performance forecasts to ensure business targets and KPIs are met or exceeded
• Preparing and updating monthly reports, cost and budget information, maintaining strong client relationships
• Maximising cash flow through control, measurement and valuation of work, and managing invoicing and payments
• Managing sub-contractors including enquiries, negotiation, order placement and payment, whilst supporting procurement activities
