Job summary

Cavendish is seeking a Level 1 Project Manager for a Glasgow-based hybrid role (3 days on site) to lead a limited complexity project and assist in managing broader initiatives. The contract is 12 months, inside IR35, with rates starting at £60ph+ Umbrella.

Applicants must hold SC clearance and be a British citizen with no recent work outside the UK. The role requires a strong focus on governance, HSSE, and delivery excellence within a regulated environment.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in engineering / project / construction management or related field.
• PMQ / APMP qualification and working towards Chartered Project Professional (ChPP).
• IOSH Managing Safely or higher safety qualifications preferred.
• Extensive recent and relevant experience in a similar environment / business sector.
• Extensive experience in a Project Management position.
• Awareness of contracting methodologies (e.g. FIDIC/NEC3/JCT).
• Full project lifecycle experience from bid phase through to close out.
• Competence in APM competencies: Team Management, Consolidated Planning, Contract Management, Requirements Management, Schedule Management, Budgeting and Cost Control, Risk/Opportunity and Issue Management, Governance.

Responsibilities

• Lead on Health, Safety, Security, Environment and Quality within the project.
• Manage the Customer Interface and project risks, planning and response actions.
• Establish governance for delivery, defining roles and accountabilities.
• Lead the project to deliver performance through engagement, continuous improvement and technology.
• Plan and monitor programme (profit & loss) and submit monthly reviews with deviations and actions.
• Form relationships with project stakeholders.
• Coordinate activities and dependencies and manage resources and external dependencies.
• Develop and support team members and drive professional development.
• Manage finances to drive cost control and project outcomes.
• Oversee third party suppliers and participate in the PM Forum.
