Job summary

SSE is seeking a Project Manager/Engineer to join the Connections team in Inverness. The role focuses on developing, refining and executing new projects across our operational area, with travel as required.

Responsibilities include coordinating outcomes, keeping to budgets and timelines, and supporting clients and delivery teams to ensure smooth project delivery and governance compliance. A valid driving licence is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience creating project schedules, budgets and resource plans.
• Ability to meet deadlines, quality and budget goals with progress and financial reporting.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Project.
• Familiarity with regulated industries (ideally electricity/utilities).
• Experience in governance processes and Construction (Design & Management) Regulations.
• HV knowledge is beneficial but training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and prioritise essential project outcomes for multiple projects in the Highland area.
• Ensure projects are completed within budget, on time and meet quality standards.
• Assist clients and delivery teams to ensure projects run smoothly and attend site meetings.
• Enhance profitability and opportunities through excellent customer service and identifying improvements for collaboration.
• Support delivery managers to implement Safety Management Systems, CDM regulations, governance processes.
• Willing to work towards LV & HV authorisations (LV/HV Switching & SAP).
