Job summary

SSE's SSEN Transmission is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to join the Network Development Team in Scotland. You will coordinate new connection activities, whole-system planning and network resilience while working across disciplines.

This permanent, full-time role requires base in one of our Scottish locations with 50% in the office in Perth, Aberdeen or Inverness. You will partner with System Planning, Asset Management and external stakeholders to deliver options, designs and cost

Qualifications

Engineering or technical qualification or equivalent experience.
Ability to solve technical problems and translate into actionable plans.
Strong interpersonal and organisational skills for cross-team collaboration.
Understanding of commercial principles, project reporting and financial control.
Awareness of safety, CDM regulations and environmental responsibilities.

Responsibilities

Coordinate management, development and schemes triggering load/non-load means across SHET area.
Collaborate with System Planning and Asset Management to ensure early alignment across disciplines.
Develop technical designs, programmes (with outages) and cost proposals for transmission projects.
Contribute to strategic optioneering with concept design, cost and programme.
Support feasibility studies and conceptual design activities with clear technical and commercial capture.
