Job summary

The Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead is seeking a Payroll Officer to join the Payroll team. You will report to the Payroll Specialist and handle payroll for specific work areas, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and high service levels.

This full-time, permanent role requires experience in payroll administration, strong IT and Excel skills, and familiarity with HR/payroll databases. Hybrid working is available.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 or GCSEs in Maths and English.
• Local government payroll experience is desirable.
• Proficient IT skills and intermediate Excel.

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate payroll advice to managers and staff.
• Investigate and resolve routine payroll queries.
• Perform month-end tasks including reconciliation and pension reporting to Teachers' Pensions and LGPS.
• Ensure payroll services meet service levels with confidentiality.
• Identify process-improvement opportunities to enhance customer experience.
• Participate in training to develop skills.
