Job summary

Home Limited is seeking a Payroll Assistant to join our busy Payroll Team in Handforth, Cheshire. The role supports processing payroll for around 9,000 colleagues on a four-weekly cycle in a hybrid setup with one office day in Handforth.

The position offers opportunities to develop payroll knowledge, covering auto-enrolment, pension reconciliations, P45s, and P11D support, while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality in all tasks.

Qualifications

• Previous experience of administering payroll within an office environment is essential.
• A good understanding of current payroll legislation is required.
• Experience with SAP payroll is an advantage.
• Experience handling company cars and expenses is beneficial.
• Must be well organized with high accuracy and attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
• Proficient with Word, Excel & Outlook.
• Ability to handle confidential information in line with GDPR requirements.

Responsibilities

• Part of a team processing timely, compliant and accurate payroll for ~9,000 colleagues on a four-weekly basis across multiple payrolls.
• Calculate SSP and company sick pay entitlements.
• Calculate statutory entitlements.
• Process AOE and CSA deductions.
• Process P45s and New Starter Checklists.
• Assess colleagues for auto-enrolment into the pension scheme.
• Reconcile pension contributions before submission to the provider.
• Manage queries to deliver first-class service to colleagues.
• Support the processing of P11D returns using third-party software.
