Job summary

Pets at Home is looking for a Payroll Assistant to join the busy Payroll Team in Handforth, Cheshire. The role offers hybrid working with one office day and four days WFH, supporting payroll for around 9,000 colleagues on a four-weekly cycle.

We value accuracy, confidentiality and strong communication. You will process SSP, statutory entitlements and pension auto-enrolment, with exposure to P11d and related payroll tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Experience administering payroll within an office environment.
• Solid understanding of current payroll legislation.
• Experience with SAP payroll is an advantage.
• Experience dealing with confidentiality and sensitive information.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Word, Excel & Outlook.
• Awareness of GDPR requirements.

Responsibilities

• Process payroll for approximately 9,000 colleagues on a four-week cycle.
• Calculate SSP and company sick pay entitlements.
• Calculate statutory entitlements.
• Process AOE and CSA deductions.
• Process P45s and New Starter Checklists.
• Assess colleagues for auto-enrolment into the pension scheme.
• Reconcile pension contributions files before submission to provider.
• Handle payroll queries and deliver first-class service to colleagues.
• Support processing of P11d returns using third-party software.
