Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking an Assistant Traffic Control Systems Engineer to join the Traffic Control Systems team in the UK. The role focuses on designing traffic signal installations, supporting project delivery, and working across sites to improve journeys and safety.

Hybrid work is offered from Epsom or Bristol, with travel as needed. You will gain mentorship, contribute to varied projects across UK and international clients, and pursue professional registration toward Chartership while

Qualifications

• Developing technical knowledge and enthusiasm for delivering projects in transport technology.
• Willing to learn and develop, seek out new opportunities.
• Experience with CAD software.
• Knowledge of design processes and best practice in traffic signals/highways design and operation.
• Pursue professional registration leading to Chartership.

Responsibilities

• Undertaking design of Traffic Signal Installations in 2D and 3D using AutoCAD.
• Providing solutions to design problems.
• Preparation of engineering calculations and engineering drawings.
• Site visits to undertake surveys and support installation and optimization.
• Testing and commissioning of equipment.
• Supporting the administration of projects.
• Writing of technical notes, project reports and other design related deliverables for clients.
• Working with senior staff to report on project progress.
