Job summary

INDENGINEERING in Waterbeach, Cambridgeshire, is seeking an IT Support Engineer (1st/2nd line) for a temporary ongoing role. You will provide desktop, laptop, and mobile device support, troubleshoot hardware and software issues, and assist with onboarding and account provisioning within Microsoft Entra ID and Microsoft 365.

The role requires 2–3 years in IT support, strong knowledge of Microsoft 365, Windows 10/11, Entra ID, AD, and Intune, plus good customer service.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of IT support or service desk experience.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365, Windows 10/11, Entra ID/Azure AD, AD and Intune.
• Experience supporting desktop, laptop and mobile devices.
• Basic networking knowledge including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and Wi‑Fi troubleshooting.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Desirable: Autopilot, PowerShell scripting, Teams Phone & SharePoint administration, VMware/Veeam, Aruba/Cisco Meraki/UniFi networking, cybersecurity awareness.

Responsibilities

• Provide first and second-line desktop, laptop, and mobile device support to users across the business.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and security groups within Microsoft Entra ID and Microsoft 365.
• Support onboarding and offboarding activities including device deployment and account provisioning.
• Administer and support Microsoft Intune-managed devices.
• Assist with endpoint configuration, patching, and compliance management.
• Support Microsoft Teams, Exchange Online, and SharePoint Online users.
• Troubleshoot network connectivity issues across LAN, Wi-Fi, and remote access services.
• Maintain accurate documentation and knowledge base articles.
• Participate in technology improvement projects as required.
