Job summary

The Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC) at the University of Sheffield in Rotherham seeks a Senior IT Technician - Cyber Security. You will lead cybersecurity and endpoint compliance efforts, coordinate with security teams, and help shift IT Support from reactive fixes to proactive security and compliance.

• Lead on cybersecurity and endpoint compliance tickets within the service desk (TOPdesk).
• Collaborate with the AMRC Cyber Security Manager, Systems Managers and University IS teams.
• Automate and centralise fixes to reduce recurring IT support incidents.
• Develop clear documentation and SOPs for the wider IT team and end users.
• Apply security standards within projects at the AMRC and related entities.

Responsibilities

• Take the lead on cybersecurity and endpoint compliance tickets within our service desk (TOPdesk).
• Collaborate with the AMRC Cyber Security Manager, AMRC Systems Managers and University Information Security colleagues.
• Automate and centralise fixes to reduce recurring IT support incidents.
• Develop clear documentation and SOPs for the wider IT team (and end users).
• Apply security standards within projects at the AMRC, some may require bespoke security arrangements.
