Job summary

National Grid is recruiting for an Asset Lifecycle Engineer - HV Wound Plant. You will manage asset lifecycle across 33kV–400kV HV wound plant, shaping asset strategies and supporting the Great Grid Upgrade.

The role covers technical strategy development, policy creation and collaboration with a wide range of stakeholders; hybrid working is offered with travel to Warwick and other sites.

Qualifications

• A numerate degree or equivalent relevant industry experience.
• Membership, or the ability to become a member, of a relevant professional institution.
• Technical understanding of Substation HV Wound Plant.
• Knowledge of asset management principles and their practical application.
• Experience in technical specification development and maintenance, design reviews, asset strategy development, policy creation, maintenance strategy, and asset lifetime management.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist technical and asset management expertise relating to HV wound plant assets.
• Support asset lifecycle activities from specification and design through maintenance and replacement strategies.
• Develop and maintain policies, procedures, technical specifications, standards and guidance.
• Support the development of technical strategies and intervention plans across the HV plant portfolio.
• Identify opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement.
• Undertake Type Registration activities in line with processes.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders across the energy industry.
• Represent National Grid on national and international committees to influence policy and standards.
• Support development of apprentices, graduates and team members.
