Job summary

National Grid is seeking an experienced Asset Engineering Manager - HV Switchgear to lead the asset lifecycle strategy for our switchgear fleet and drive safe, reliable transmission network infrastructure. You will manage a team of asset specialists and shape intervention planning to maximise whole-life value.

Hybrid role with regular travel to Warwick, offering a competitive salary and a broad benefits package including a 30% bonus potential and generous pension contributions.

Qualifications

• Experience in asset engineering, asset management or asset strategy within the electricity sector.
• Strong knowledge of high-voltage network assets, including switchgear asset management and lifecycle planning.
• Experience in a regulated utility environment (TO/TO or DNO).
• Proven leadership of technical teams and capability to influence stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead, develop and support a team of asset engineering specialists, fostering safety and high performance.
• Maintain and develop technical specifications, standards and policies for lifecycle management.
• Define and deliver asset class strategies informing investment decisions and long-term plans.
• Oversee asset health review processes with risk-based decision making.
• Own asset data and drive data quality improvements to support digital asset management.
