Job summary

Slough Borough Council is seeking an HR ER Caseworker to provide practical employee relations advice to managers and employees. You will handle a varied caseload and support fair decision-making through policy guidance and timely outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience in handling employee relations matters and advising managers on HR policies.
• Ability to coach managers and guide case progression with fairness and compliance.
• Strong case management skills with attention to accuracy and records.
• Knowledge of employment law and HR best practices.

Responsibilities

• Managing a varied caseload of employee relations matters, including absence, performance, grievance, disciplinary, probation and other people-related issues.
• Providing clear advice and guidance to managers on HR policies, employment legislation, good practice and appropriate next steps.
• Coaching managers to manage cases effectively, supporting them to prepare for meetings, apply procedures fairly and reach timely outcomes.
• Working closely with HR Business Partners, legal colleagues and other stakeholders to ensure complex or higher-risk cases are managed appropriately.
• Keeping accurate case records, monitoring progress against service standards and escalating risks or delays when needed.
