Job summary

Slough Borough Council is seeking an HR ER Caseworker to provide practical, professional and customer-focused employee relations advice to managers and employees across the Council.

You will help managers deal confidently and fairly with a range of people matters, supporting good decision-making, positive working relationships and consistent application of HR policies and procedures. The role offers flexible and hybrid working arrangements.

Responsibilities

• Managing a varied caseload of employee relations matters, including absence, performance, grievance, disciplinary, probation and other people-related issues.
• Providing clear advice and guidance to managers on HR policies, employment legislation, good practice and appropriate next steps.
• Coaching managers to manage cases effectively, supporting them to prepare for meetings, apply procedures fairly and reach timely outcomes.
• Working closely with HR Business Partners, legal colleagues and other stakeholders to ensure complex or higher-risk cases are managed appropriately.
• Keeping accurate case records, monitoring progress against service standards and escalating risks or delays when needed.
