Job summary

YMCA Cheltenham seeks a part-time HR Advisor to join a small, supportive HR team in Cheltenham, hybrid working. The role focuses on employee relations, attendance, and performance management, advising managers and staff with practical, customer-focused guidance.

You will balance sound judgement with a supportive, solutions-focused approach, and bring a Level 4 HR qualification (or CIPD) and UK employment law knowledge to the team. Proactive CPD and HRIS/MS365 experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Level 4 HR qualification or working towards CIPD.
• Member of CIPD or working towards membership.
• Evidence of CPD (continuous professional development).
• Experience as HR Advisor.
• Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
• Experience using HR information systems and Microsoft 365.

Responsibilities

• Provide HR advice and employee relations support.
• Manage attendance, wellbeing, and absence management.
• Support performance development processes.
• Contribute to recruitment and employee lifecycle activities.
• Ensure policies and processes align with legislation and best practice.
• Manage HR data and payroll-related tasks in HRIS.
