Job summary

NFP People is helping a Cheltenham charity recruit a part-time HR Advisor to provide practical, customer-focused HR advice and support managers with employee relations, attendance and performance management.

Reporting to the Head of HR, you will work across the organisation, ensuring policies and processes are applied fairly and in line with UK employment law, with a focus on early intervention and constructive solutions within a small, supportive team.

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 4 HR qualification or working towards CIPD.
• Member of CIPD.
• Evidence of CPD.
• Experience working as an HR Advisor.
• Strong knowledge of UK employment law.
• Practical HR advice and employee relations experience.
• Experience with disciplinary, grievance and attendance processes.
• Familiarity with HR information systems and MS 365.

Are you an experienced HR professional who enjoys providing practical advice, building trusted relationships and helping managers navigate complex people matters?

We are looking for a proactive and people-centred HR Advisor to join a small and supportive HR team in Cheltenham reporting into the Head of HR.

Hours:

Part-time, 30 hours per week

Contract:

Permanent

This is a varied generalist role with a particular focus on employee relations, attendance and performance management. You will work closely with managers and employees across the organisation, providing professional and customer-focused HR advice while helping to ensure our policies and processes are applied fairly, consistently and in line with employment legislation and good practice.

About You

You will be a confident HR professional who can balance sound judgement with a supportive and solutions-focused approach.

You will have:

• A minimum Level 4 HR qualification, or be working towards a relevant CIPD qualification.
• Member of the HR body called CIPD.
• Evidence of relevant Continuous Professional Development.
• Experience working as an HR Advisor.
• Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
• Practical experience of providing generalist HR advice and supporting employee relations cases.
• Experience of disciplinary, grievance, absence, capability and performance processes.
• Good working knowledge of UK employment legislation and HR good practice.
• Experience of using HR information systems and Microsoft 365.
