Job summary

Mott MacDonald is actively seeking an Electrical Engineer to join the Energy Unit's Transmission & Distribution division in Newcastle upon Tyne. You will support client projects from inception through commissioning, delivering designs for 11kV/33kV networks, HV cables, transformers, and protection schemes.

We value Chartered professionals with strong communication, multi-disciplinary collaboration, and bid/proposal experience.

Qualifications

• Professionally qualified in a relevant engineering discipline.
• Proven skills, capabilities and experience in the sector areas mentioned above.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
• Coordinate with multi disciplines both internal and external.
• Some experience within electrical project engineering, with focus on installations from LV up to 11kV / 33kV.
• Be competent in the use of MS packages.
• Be aware of and eventually contribute to bid procedures and internal governance.
• Be aware of procurement, construction and commissioning activities.
• Be able to travel in the UK and overseas if required.
• Must have initiative, self-motivation and the confidence to make decisions.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical solutions and project leadership in the production of electrical designs for major electrical and multi-disciplinary infrastructure works.
• Lead bids and proposals, and contribute to project planning, delivery and execution.
• Manage engineering projects and deliverables to meet the client’s expectations and regulatory specifications, on time and within budget.
• Support and develop junior staff and graduates.
