Job summary

AWE plc in Reading seeks a Commercial Capability Manager to develop and embed a full capability framework across competencies, training, development, and mentoring.

You will identify skill gaps in Commercial, design training plans, and partner with department heads to tailor development paths. This role reports to Senior Capability Manager.

Hybrid working is available; 9-day fortnight with every other Friday off and generous annual leave. Reading-based with onsite parking.

Qualifications

• Experience in a Procurement/Commercial function.
• Experience in HR or related functions, specifically in skills and development.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Manage relationships with external bodies (MOD, DNO, CAB) and identify collaboration opportunities.
• Define the Commercial competency framework and career pathways.
• Plan and oversee Commercial training, liaising with training providers to ensure delivery.
• Coordinate with HR and Talent teams to align development processes and tools.
• Oversee the Commercial skills and development programme and budget.
• Analyze capability demands and market trends to shape requirements.
• Roll out a Commercial mentoring programme to develop internal talent.
