Job summary

AWE plc is seeking a Commercial Capability Manager to design and embed a complete capability framework covering competencies, training, development, and mentoring. You will identify gaps, partner with department heads, and tailor development plans to each role, reporting to the Senior Capability Manager.

The role offers hybrid working, with three days on site and two remote, a generous 9-day fortnight, and a strong focus on external collaboration with government bodies to shape Commercial

Qualifications

• Proven professional experience.
• Experience in a Procurement / Commercial function.
• Experience within HR with focus on skills and development.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Manage relationships with external governing bodies (MOD, DNO, CAB) and identify collaboration opportunities.
• Define the Commercial competency framework and career pathways.
• Manage Commercial training plans and providers, leveraging AWE training resources.
• Collaborate with HR and talent teams to align development processes and tools.
• Oversee the Commercial skills and development programme and budget.
• Analyze capability demand and market trends to inform development plans.
• Implement a Commercial mentoring programme to nurture internal talent.
