AECOM is seeking a Cables System Design Engineer to join our Transmission & Distribution group in the UK. You will contribute to lifecycle cable design, from feasibility through detailed design to installation and commissioning on major HV/EHV projects.

The role requires FEED experience, knowledge of IEC/CIGRÉ standards, and familiarity with industry tools such as CYMCAP, WinCable, AutoCAD, and GIS. Hybrid working is offered with opportunities across the UK&I region.

Qualificações

• Electrical Engineering degree or HNC in Electrical Engineering
• Experience in HV/EHV cable system design; FEED experience essential
• Experience in regulated environments; National Grid experience preferred
• Knowledge of routing, burial risk, EMI, thermal and stability analysis
• Familiar with IEC, CIGRÉ, and NG-TPs standards
• Experience with CYMCAP, WinCable, AutoCAD, Revit, GIS
• Third-party inspection experience would be advantageous

Responsabilidades

• Contribute to full lifecycle cable engineering packages from feasibility to commissioning
• Support review of HV cable system designs including route, burial risk, thermal, and EMI calculations
• Carry out cable rating, ampacity, and short circuit analysis studies
• Perform cable pulling, junctioning, cleating and installation feasibility studies
• Collaborate with civil, substation, and OHL teams for integrated solutions
• Assist with inspections and FAT/SAT, installation and commissioning
• Coordinate with manufacturers, suppliers, and contractors to ensure IEC, CIGRÉ and NG-TP compliance
