Job summary

Orion Electrotech in Reading is seeking a confident Business Development Manager to drive growth in engineering and manufacturing sectors. You’ll identify opportunities, open doors, and build lasting client partnerships while managing a full sales cycle from prospecting to handover.

The ideal candidate has a track record in business development, sales or account management, is target-driven, and comfortable with commissions and long-term desk growth.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in business development, sales, account management, recruitment (360), or another target-driven environment.
• Confident and professional approach to client interaction, both on the phone and face-to-face.
• Strong commercial awareness with a proactive mindset for spotting opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Drive business development to win new clients in engineering and manufacturing.
• Build and maintain relationships with decision-makers at all levels.
• Manage full sales cycle from prospecting to account handover.
• Collaborate with recruitment consultants to meet client requirements.
• Shape sales strategies and contribute to the growth of the BD function.
• Track activity, forecast pipelines, and meet BD targets.
