Orion Electrotech is seeking a commercially minded Business Development Manager to join our Engineering & Manufacturing team in Reading on a hybrid basis. You will drive new business, build long-term client partnerships, and manage the full sales cycle with uncapped commission potential. The role suits a target-driven salesperson with recruitment or 360 experience and a proactive, resilient mindset. Hybrid working and progression supported.

Qualifications

• Must have proven experience in business development, sales, account management, recruitment (360), or another target-driven environment.
• Confident, professional approach to client interaction, both on the phone and face-to-face.
• Strong commercial awareness and proactive mindset for spotting and acting on opportunities.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport quickly.
• Motivation, resilience, and a strong work ethic.
• A vehicle and full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Driving business development activity to identify and win new clients across the engineering and manufacturing sectors.
• Building and maintaining strong business relationships with decision makers at all levels.
• Managing the full sales cycle, from initial prospecting through to account handover.
• Collaborating with recruitment consultants to ensure client requirements are delivered successfully.
• Helping shape sales strategies and contributing to the wider growth of the business development function.
• Tracking activity, forecasting pipelines, and achieving both personal and team business development targets.
