Job summary

SSEN Transmission is seeking a Civil Project Engineer to join the HVDC team to drive forward our projects and help deliver a network for Net Zero. Many projects are in the Highlands, Western Isles and Aberdeenshire, so travel to that area or being locally based is desirable.

You will define scope of civil design, provide technical input, coordinate across disciplines, promote safety under CDM, and support delivery from concept to construction.

Qualifications

• A degree in an appropriate engineering discipline (preferably CEng or working towards this).
• Experience using Infraworks, Civil 3D, Revit, Navisworks or similar tools for design coordination.
• Good knowledge of industry standards and design codes.
• Understanding of CDM Regulations and site constructability challenges.
• Ability to communicate complex technical issues clearly to senior management.
• Experience working in multi-discipline project teams on large capital schemes.
• Interest in both project development and delivery from concept to completion.

Responsibilities

• Lead civil engineering design and delivery on projects valued £200M–£2B.
• Provide technical input and coordinate with other disciplines for a coordinated delivery.
• Promote safety via CDM and safety in design principles.
• Define scope of civil design and support delivery through RFIs, TQs and PMIs.
• Collaborate with contractors, consultants and multidisciplinary teams.
• Provide site support during construction, resolve design/construction issues.
