Job summary

AECOM is seeking a skilled electrical engineering professional to lead HV substation design and FEED work in the UK/Ireland region. You will drive design delivery for major energy infrastructure projects, develop equipment specs, and ensure robust tender and construction support.

A strong client-facing, multi-project capability is essential. You’ll join the Transmission and Distribution team, working in a hybrid model with access to global expertise and career development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering
• Experience with consultancy, contractor or utility in energy sector
• Experience as FEED designer, detailed design or owner’s engineer
• Experience designing HV infrastructure at concept and FEED stages
• Budget, time and quality project management experience is advantageous
• Excellent client-facing and team-working skills

Responsibilities

• Produce primary plant layouts for HV substations
• Lead engineering design input to major infrastructure projects
• Undertake Project Development/Pre-construction activities including optimal cable routes
• Develop equipment specifications for HV plant and associated equipment
• Develop tender specifications and undertake tender evaluations
• Provide design assurance of tender return documentation and supplier meetings
• Review supplier designs during construction and support commissioning and fault resolution
• Mentor junior team members and act as trusted partner to clients
