Job summary

Balfour Beatty plc in Aberdeen is seeking a Site Based Construction Manager with Cabling / Substation expertise to lead HV projects within our Power Transmission & Distribution team. You will manage site engineers, plan resources, and ensure safety, quality, and regulatory compliance across the project.

The role requires a proven delivery track record, understanding of 132kV+ systems, and strong stakeholder collaboration to deliver on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• Proven track record delivering major projects on time and within budget.
• Experience with HV cables at transmission voltage (132kV) or above.
• Ability to implement safe systems of work and drive safety initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Support Project Managers with overall project profitability and leadership.
• Plan work, secure materials, plant and equipment, and manage resources.
• Oversee site operations, supervise labour and subcontractors, ensure quality control.
• Coordinate with Highways Authorities, Local Authorities and other utilities.
• Ensure delivery on time and budget by tracking progress against budgets.
• Review design documents for compliance and practicality.
• Promote collaboration and motivate the team to achieve targets.
