Job summary

Balfour Beatty plc is seeking a Site Supervisor (Substations) for our Power T&D team at Lochgilphead, Scotland. You will lead site teams to deliver high-quality work safely, on programme, and within budget, coordinating with Site Engineers and other professionals.

You will perform inductions, ensure permits and PPE, conduct safety checks, and support daily site operations. The role requires strong leadership, communication, and a proven track record in similar electrical infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

• Experience in managing and delivering overhead line, cabling or substation works.
• SSSTS qualification and safety training modules completed.
• Ability to lead, develop and motivate a site team for safety and performance.

Responsibilities

• Review scope of works with engineers and agree safe working methods.
• Ensure inductions and daily briefings for all operatives.
• Verify permits, PPE, and welfare facilities on site.
• Carry out safety checks and inspections with the client MSR.
• Maintain accurate site records, logs and progress reporting.
• Assist Engineers with weekly inspections of plant and lifting equipment.
• Attend safety forums and communicate safety alerts to all on site.
