Job summary

Balfour Beatty plc is recruiting a Commissioning Manager for our Power Transmission & Distribution Substation team in the UK North East Scotland region. The role focuses on leading commissioning delivery across project lifecycles, from tendering to handover, and mentoring a growing team of engineers and technicians.

You will drive commissioning strategies, ensure compliance with safety and QA standards, and provide expert guidance on HV/LV and Protection & Control testing to support

Qualifications

• Hands-on substation commissioning experience in transmission.
• Knowledge of HV/LV and P&C testing procedures.
• Experience managing remote technical teams and subcontractors.
• Familiar with industry QA/QC processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead commissioning delivery across lifecycle of substation projects.
• Oversee commissioning strategies from early involvement to handover.
• Provide technical guidance on equipment testing per standards.
• Ensure safety, quality and procedural compliance on site.
• Mentor commissioning team including engineers and technicians.
