Balfour Beatty is seeking a Site Supervisor (Substations) for the Power T&D team at Lochgilphead, Scotland. You will lead site teams, ensure training, safety, and on-time delivery, and work closely with Site Engineers to keep projects moving on ground.

The role requires SSSTS and experience in overhead lines, cabling, or substations up to 400kV, plus strong leadership and budget awareness. Hybrid options may apply where appropriate.

Qualificações

• Experience of Management and Delivery of Overhead Line, Cabling or Substation schemes up to 400kV preferable.
• Completion of SSSTS
• Completion of Making Safety Personal Module 2
• Completion of Brilliant Basics – Honest Conversations Module
• Effective Communication Skills
• Commercial awareness with knowledge of budgetary and financial control
• Excellent relationship management skills
• Ability to lead, develop and motivate a team for success

Responsabilidades

• Review scope of works with Project/Site Engineers and agree safe systems of work.
• Ensure timely requisition for plant and equipment with adequate notice.
• Induct all operatives and conduct daily briefs before activities.
• Ensure correct authorisations to operate plant and receive permits.
• Verify PPE and welfare facilities on site are adequate.
• Carry out MSR safety checks with Client MSR.
• Assist Engineers in weekly inspections of plant and lifting equipment.
• Maintain accurate weekly log books and vehicle checks.
• Ensure Permit to Work near Existing Services is properly carried out.
• Lead morning and evening safety briefings and attendance.
• Store materials safely and maintain housekeeping.
• Provide information to arrange on-site security as needed.
• Attend safety forums and promote near-miss reporting.
• Communicate safety alerts to all personnel involved.
• Assist Safety Department with investigations of accidents/near misses.
• Hand over site records to Engineer for final records.
• Distribute updated access maps and restrict areas in toolbox talks.
• Ensure external services are in place before site activities start.
• Maintain accurate time sheets showing progress, hours, and resources.
