Job description

Are you a dedicated Secondary Supply Teacher who enjoys the variety and flexibility that supply work offers?

Do you have the ability to quickly adapt to different school settings and deliver high-quality learning experiences?

Are you seeking flexible teaching opportunities within welcoming Secondary Schools that value your skills and experience?

TeacherActive is recruiting experienced Humanities Teachers to join our growing supply team supporting secondary schools across South Wiltshire.

I am particularly interested in History, Geography and Religious Education specialists based in or able to travel around Salisbury, Amesbury, Durrington, Tidworth, Wilton, Downton, the Stonehenge area and neighbouring communities.

Schools need excellent teachers for everything from a single day's absence to several weeks or a full-term assignment. I am therefore looking for experienced practitioners who can step confidently into unfamiliar classrooms, build rapport quickly and keep pupils engaged with meaningful learning.

You may be an experienced supply teacher already, returning to the classroom, reducing your permanent teaching commitment or simply looking for greater flexibility. The important thing is that you are a strong classroom practitioner who takes pride in doing supply properly.

The successful candidate will have:
  • QTS and a specialism in History, Geography, Religious Education or a closely related Humanities subject
  • Experience teaching at secondary level, preferably to KS4
  • Confident behaviour management and a positive classroom presence
  • The ability to deliver existing lesson plans effectively and adapt when required
  • Reliability, professionalism and a willingness to work across your preferred South Wiltshire locations
In return, you can expect:
  • A dedicated consultant who knows the Wiltshire secondary market
  • Flexibility to choose when and where you work
  • Day-to-day, short-term and longer-term opportunities
  • Guaranteed Payment Scheme *Terms and Conditions apply*
  • CPD courses and certificates through our 'My-Progression' brand
  • Market-leading rates of pay
  • Referral scheme – receive up to £100 when you refer a friend *Terms and Conditions apply*

Our staff are paid on a PAYE basis, so you can rest assured that you're paying the right level of tax and National Insurance, with no admin charges coming out of your hard-earned cash.

Safeguarding and DBS Compliance

Registration may involve an enhanced DBS check, ID checks and the supply of good professional references, depending on the role. We are committed to safeguarding and compliance across all placements.
