Job description

Fixed Term or Secondment Opportunity* for 12 months to cover substantive post holders maternity leave.

*Secondment Opportunity – Existing permanent employees must first discuss this opportunity with their substantive line manager and complete the secondment request form prior to interview. The secondment request form and the associated secondment policy can be found on the HR/Recruitment intranet pages and must be completed and signed by the substantive line manager. The candidate should then take it with them to interview as confirmation that an agreement has been granted.

  • 1 x 29.6hrs per week
  • 1 x 22.2hrs per week
Role Overview

We currently have opportunities for HR professionals to work within the Operational HR Team, supporting the provision of guidance to managers and staff across the full range of human resources functions. These are fixed-term/secondment roles to cover maternity leave.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive operational HR services to managers and staff on issues such as terms and conditions of service, HR policies, employee relations, employment legislation, conducting investigations, ensuring advice and support align with NHS Scotland policies, NHS Forth Valley policies, employment legislation, and best practices.
  • Support the development and implementation of modern employment processes and practices during organizational change, maintaining effective operational services and fostering partnership working.
  • Participate in a rota to support the HR Connect Helpdesk and enquiry portal.
  • Assist in developing and facilitating training on HR policies and legislation for managers and staff.
Candidate Requirements
  • Previous experience at this level with excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to influence and manage complex HR situations.
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent experience in operational HR, preferably within the NHS or similar setting.
  • Possession or progression towards CIPD membership.
  • Must complete a Level 2 Disclosure Scotland check.
