Job description
Overview

Our client has a current opportunity for an experienced HSE Advisor to join their team on a contract basis for approximately 3-6 months.

This is a key role where your decisions and influence will shape safe working environments across live construction sites, working alongside site managers, engineers, and project teams. You’ll be responsible for ensuring Health, Safety and Welfare standards are not only met but continually improved.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct site inspections and audits to ensure full compliance with CDM Regulations and company safety procedures
  • Support site teams in implementing RAMS, permits to work, and safe systems of work
  • Lead toolbox talks, safety briefings, and behavioural safety programmes
  • Investigate near-misses and incidents, and support root cause analysis
  • Liaise with clients, subcontractors, regulators and HSEQ teams
  • Track KPIs and compile monthly safety reports to senior management
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and positive safety engagement on site
What You’ll Need

Essential Requirements:

  • NEBOSH Construction Certificate (or equivalent)
  • Radiation Protection Supervisor ticket (RPS)
  • Contaminated Ground ticket
  • At least 3 years' experience in a construction or Civil Engineering environment, gained within a Consultancy or Contractor
  • Confidence to engage constructively with operatives, site leads and senior management
  • Full UK driving licence (travel to site required)
Desirable
  • Tech IOSH or working towards Grad IOSH
  • First Aid at Work or Mental Health First Aider
  • Experience with highways, rail, or utilities projects
