Qualifications

  • High school diploma; advanced education preferred.
  • Three to five years experience in HR services, preferably in a public school setting.
  • Strong technology skills; knowledge of HR information systems, applicant-tracking systems, databases, electronic forms, Word and Excel.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Ability to set, manage, and coordinate multiple priorities.
  • Problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure with deadlines and frequent interruptions.
  • Ability to initiate and supervise projects to their conclusion.
  • Knowledge of relevant school personnel legislation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and public relations skills to interact with district staff and the public.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains compliance with legal and district requirements for pre- and post-employment processing of support/hourly staff.
  • Posts and maintains job openings and supports applicant processing, eligibility, and selection procedures.
  • Responds to inquiries regarding the employment process for support/hourly positions; serves as HR contact for routine matters.
  • Processes employment offers and coordinates new hire processing and onboarding for support/hourly staff.
  • Maintains and updates employee records, databases, and HRIS data for support/hourly staff.
  • Prepares and inputs Personnel Change Sheet information and other approved personnel actions.
  • Processes assignment changes, transfers, and changes in hours or status for staff.
  • Processes retirements, resignations, and separations; updates records.
  • Manages employment-status changes for leaves in coordination with Benefits/Leave.
  • Administers Informed K12 forms and records for support/hourly staff; routing and retention.
  • Supports administration of the staff evaluation process and tracking.
  • Supports SafeSchools/Vector online training for staff; tracking and follow-up.
  • Coordinates with Payroll, Benefits, supervisors to ensure changes are communicated.
  • Supports pre-employment clearance processes with background-clearance function.
  • Assists with recruitment initiatives, job fairs, and events.
  • Assists with training administration and required hours tracking.
  • Maintains staffing calendars and reports for staffing operations.
  • Maintains confidentiality of personnel and applicant information.
  • Identifies and refers unusual issues to the Assistant Director of HR.
  • Participates in special projects and process improvements.
