Job summary

Plymouth-Canton Community Schools is seeking an Employment Coordinator to support hourly staff. You will manage pre- and post-employment processing, postings, onboarding, and HRIS data while safeguarding confidential information.

You will coordinate with Payroll, Benefits, and supervisors to ensure accurate timing and communication, handling recruitment events and staff development activities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma; advanced education preferred.
  • Three to five years experience in HR services, preferably in a public school setting.
  • Strong technology skills; knowledge of HR information systems, applicant-tracking systems, databases, electronic forms, Word and Excel.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Ability to set, manage, and coordinate multiple priorities.
  • Possess problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure with deadlines and interruptions.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains compliance with legal and District requirements for pre- and post-employment processing of support/hourly staff.
  • Posts and maintains support/hourly job openings and supports applicant processing and interview eligibility.
  • Responds to inquiries regarding employment process for support/hourly positions and serves as HR contact for routine matters.
  • Processes employment offers and coordinates onboarding for support/hourly staff.
  • Maintains and updates employee records, databases, and HRIS data for support/hourly staff.
  • Prepares and inputs Personnel Change Sheet information and authorized actions for support/hourly employees.
  • Processes changes in hours, status, transfers, and other employment changes for support/hourly staff.
  • Processes retirements, resignations, and separations with required documentation.
  • Coordinates pre-employment clearance with background-check function.
  • Assists with recruitment initiatives, job fairs, and events.
  • Supports staff development and training administration, including tracking hours.
  • Prepares and maintains employment calendars, reports, tracking tools, and documentation for staffing operations.
  • Maintains confidentiality of personnel, applicant, employment information.

Assistant Director of Human Resources

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Maintains compliance with established legal and District requirements related to the pre- and post-employment processing of support/hourly staff.
  • Posts and maintains support/hourly job openings and supports applicant processing, interview eligibility, and selection procedures.
  • Responds to inquiries regarding the employment process for support/hourly positions and serves as a primary Human Resources contact for routine employment matters.
  • Processes employment offers and coordinates new hire processing and onboarding for support/hourly staff.
  • Maintains and updates employee records, databases, and HR information system data for support/hourly staff.
  • Prepares, processes, and inputs Personnel Change Sheet information and other approved personnel actions for support/hourly employees.
  • Processes assignment changes, transfers, changes in hours or status, and other authorized employment changes for support/hourly staff.
  • Processes retirements, resignations, and other separations for support/hourly employees, including required documentation and records updates.
  • Processes employment-status changes associated with approved leaves of absence in coordination with the Benefits and Leave Administration function.
  • Administers employment-related Informed K12 forms and associated records for support/hourly staff, including routing, approval tracking, and retention.
  • Supports administration of the support-staff evaluation process, including tracking, communications, document workflow, and record maintenance.
  • Supports SafeSchools/Vector online training requirements for support/hourly staff, including employee communications, completion tracking, and follow-up as assigned.
  • Coordinates with Payroll, Benefits, supervisors, and other Human Resources staff to ensure employee changes are communicated and processed accurately and timely.
  • Supports required pre-employment clearance and eligibility processes for support/hourly hires in coordination with the designated centralized Human Resources background-clearance function.
  • Assists with support/hourly recruitment initiatives, job fairs, hiring events, and other talent-pipeline activities.
  • Assists with support-staff professional development and training administration, including tracking required hours or completion information as assigned.
  • Prepares and maintains support/hourly employment calendars, recurring reports, tracking tools, and documentation needed for effective staffing operations.
  • Maintains confidentiality regarding personnel, applicant, employment, and other information of a sensitive nature.
  • Identifies unusual contractual, compliance, staffing, or performance-related matters and refers them to the Assistant Director of Human Resources.
  • Coordinates and/or participates in special projects, process-improvement efforts, cross-training, department activities, and other duties as assigned.
