HR Manager (4-month FTC)

Location : Gloucester GL2 5RG (Mon–Fri, on-site with flexible options)

Salary : £44,000 pro rata (negotiable)

Our client, a leading care and wellbeing provider, is hiring an HR Manager on a 4-month fixed-term contract (December–April) to strengthen people practices and ensure compliance with UK employment regulation. This is a hands‑on role with real scope to shape the function and upskill managers across the business.

What you’ll do
  • Lead day‑to‑day HR operations, ensuring policies, procedures and documentation are compliant and up to date.
  • Manage ER cases end‑to‑end (conduct, capability, grievance, sickness).
  • Coach and upskill line managers on people processes and best practice.
  • Refresh and embed people policies; drive consistency and continuous improvement.
  • Support workforce planning, onboarding and induction activity.
  • Track key HR metrics (sickness, turnover, casework) and provide clear reporting and recommendations.
  • You’ll work closely with Operations, Finance and Senior Leadership to improve employee experience and enable safe, high‑quality care.
What we’re looking for
  • Proven HR management experience with strong ER casework delivery.
  • Solid knowledge of UK Employment Law and HR best practice.
  • Confidence shaping policy and setting up / streamlining HR processes.
  • Experience coaching managers and handling sensitive / confidential matters.
  • Sector experience in Health & Social Care is advantageous.
  • CIPD qualification (or equivalent experience) preferred.
  • Full UK driving licence desirable; no sponsorship available.
