Job summary

ACS Staffing Solutions is seeking an experienced HR Advisor to support a varied portfolio of UK-based clients. This remote/ Oxford-area role is hands-on, covering a broad range of employee and workplace matters with practical, real-world guidance.

You’ll advise managers and business owners on complex employee-relations issues, attendance and absence, TUPE, and policy development, while helping clients stay legally compliant and commercially sensible.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a generalist HR advisory role.
• Experience working across a varied client group, consultancy environment or multi-site organisation.
• Strong practical experience across employee relations.
• Good knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
• Experience advising managers, business owners or senior stakeholders.
• Experience creating and reviewing HR documentation and policies.
• Confidence using Microsoft 365 and familiarity with HR or CRM systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organisation, prioritisation and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide clear, practical HR advice by telephone, email and video call.
• Advise managers and business owners on employee relations matters, including disciplinary, grievance, capability and performance cases.
• Support clients with sickness absence, long-term absence, return-to-work processes and other attendance issues.
• Advise on family leave, flexible working, holidays and other employee benefits and entitlements.
• Support redundancy exercises and provide initial advice around TUPE and business transfers.
• Advise on workplace issues including discrimination, bullying, harassment and employee conduct.
• Reviewing and preparing employment contracts, letters, policies, handbooks and other HR documentation.
• Supporting recruitment and selection processes, including job descriptions, interview processes and appropriate assessment methods.
• Advising on onboarding, induction and probationary periods.
• Helping clients improve their wider HR processes and employee experience.
• Working on specific HR projects where required.
• Keeping client records and case information accurate and up to date.
• Working within established systems and processes while contributing ideas for improvements.
• Building strong client relationships and spotting opportunities where additional HR expertise or support could benefit the business.
• Sharing knowledge and experience with colleagues across the wider consultancy team.
