Job summary

ACS Staffing Solutions is seeking an experienced HR Consultant to support a portfolio of clients with practical people solutions and trusted strategic HR advice. The role is largely remote, with travel to client sites in and around Essex and the Chelmsford area.

You’ll deliver HR reviews, advise on absence management, TUPE, redundancy, policy development and onboarding, while building strong client relationships and ensuring compliance with UK employment law.

Qualifications

• Strong generalist HR background, preferably within an HR consultancy, outsourced HR environment or multi-site organisation.
• Comprehensive knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
• Significant experience handling complex employee relations cases.
• Experience supporting organisational change, including TUPE and redundancy.
• Strong coaching, influencing and stakeholder management skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Commercially minded and solutions‑oriented approach.
• Willingness and ability to travel to client sites when required.

Responsibilities

• Provide HR advice and support to a portfolio of clients via telephone, email, video calls and face‑to‑face meetings.
• Develop strong, long‑term relationships and become a trusted point of contact for HR matters.
• Deliver practical and commercially focused HR advice tailored to each client’s needs.
• Complete HR reviews and audits, identifying areas of risk and opportunities for improvement.
• Support clients with HR projects, documentation, processes and wider people initiatives.
• Manage employee relations matters from initial advice through to resolution.
• Provide guidance on disciplinary, grievance, capability, performance and conduct issues.
• Attend and support formal meetings either remotely or at client premises.
• Ensure advice remains compliant with current UK employment legislation and best practice.
