Job summary

A growing FMCG business is seeking an HR Advisor to provide HR support and manage employee relations in a fast-paced operational environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of HR processes and UK employment law, with previous experience in HR advisory roles. HR Advisor - Permanent

Location: Cambridgeshire area
Salary: Competitive, plus benefits
Working Pattern: Hybrid - minimum 3 days per week on site

We're supporting a growing FMCG business in recruiting an HR Advisor to join their established People team. This is a hands‑on, varied role suited to someone who enjoys partnering with managers, driving best practice, and thriving in a fast‑paced operational environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide day‑to‑day HR support to managers and employees across the business.
  • Act as first point of contact for HR queries, building strong and trusted relationships.>
  • Manage a range of employee relations cases end‑to‑end, ensuring compliance with policy and employment law.
  • Support performance, absence, disciplinary and grievance processes, offering clear advice and guidance to managers.
  • Lead onboarding and off‑boarding activity, including inductions and exit interviews.
  • Contribute to HR projects such as engagement, culture, change initiatives and development programmes.
  • Maintain accurate HR records and support data and reporting to influence people’s decisions.
About You
  • Strong understanding of HR processes, UK employment law and best practice.
  • Confident in managing ER cases and advising managers.
  • Resilient, organised and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Previous experience in HR generalist or advisory roles, ideally within FMCG or a similar fast‑moving setting.
  • CIPD Level 5 (or working towards/equivalent experience).
  • Able to build credibility quickly and influence stakeholders at all levels.
